Kolkata 6 February. In memory of the late Lata Mangeshkar, the West Bengal government on Monday declared a half-day holiday in her memory. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the song of Lata would be played in the state for the next 15 days. She breathed his last at 8:12 a.m. at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She was 92 years old. Many people, including the President, Prime Minister and Chief Minister of the country, expressed their condolences on his demise. “I am deeply saddened by the death of legendary musician Lata Mangeshkar. She breathed his last in Mumbai today. She was 92 years old. We are empty after her death. Lata Mangeshkar, a musician and a unique genius, has captivated audiences with the magic of her voice for over eight decades.
She has sung innumerable classical, ghazal, bhajan, modern and cinematic songs in over 36 Indian and foreign languages, including Hindi, Marathi and Bengali. Intelligence strengthened and anointed each other. They have received numerous awards and honors including Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Padma Bhushan, Dada Sahib Phalke Award, Legion of Honor, National Film Award, Bengal Film Journalists Association Award. A two-day official mourning has been declared in the country on the demise of the artist. The national flag will remain in the tunnels. According to sources, Lata Mangeshkar’s last rites will be performed at 6.30 pm on Sunday in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. Earlier, the body was found lying in the house of Lata Par Bhokanj. There, people will be able to pay their last respects to the artist.
