Subject: Likely formation of tropical cyclone over Bay of Bengal around 08th May,2022.
A Low Pressure Area has formed over South Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay
of Bengal along with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto mid-tropospheric levels. It
is very likely to move northwestwards, intensify into a Depression by 07th May evening and
further into a cyclonic storm by 08th May evening. It is very likely to continue to
move northwestwards and reach West central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra-Odisha
coasts by 10th May.
Rain/Thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rainfall (07-11 cm) is likely over the districts
of Gangetic West Bengal during 10-13th May,2022.
Fishermen are advised not to venture along and off West Bengal coast from 10th
May,2022
